Project: Playtime is a Co-op survival horror game that got announced a couple of months back. I have had mixed feelings about Poppy Playtime, as the chapters have been rolling out over time. I feel like it is more of a vehicle to move the story forward rather than being a fun game. But this actually looks like it could be a good time. In the game, 6 players enter the facility to recover toy parts by solving puzzles while simultaneously trying to survive, due to the fact that there is another player playing as the monster trying to kill everyone.
Many games have used a similar concept, such as Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th. But the problem with both of those games is that they both have a measure of Jank to them, just very clunky and frustrating to play at times. Not to mention they are both relatively violent games. So, this game already has an edge over the others because it seems to be a little more family friendly. This could be a serious hit if they can make the gameplay smoother than its predecessors and keep the game interesting with some type of meaningful progression. They have already given hints at this with some type of loadout system for the survivors that lets you customize your abilities.
Of course, since the game is free to play, they will be having what appears to be an in-game shop where you can purchase cosmetics with real money. This is fine in my opinion since it is free to play. Just as long as it doesn’t become as ridiculous as Overwatch 2 or Apex Legends. $20 for a single skin is unacceptable. You will have 2 maps and 3 monsters at launch with more coming as time goes on. The game will launch into early access for free on December 6th. I want to hear your thoughts though. Do you think this game looks like it will be the next big hit? Or will it fade into obscurity like the thousands of other failed multiplayer games? Let me know in the comments below. Have a great weekend everyone and Stay Fresh!
you should review the new sonic game. I heard it was meh.
